Don Coscarelli's John Dies at the End is an incredibly fun, wild experience that keeps the viewer on their toes from start to finish. From the very beginning of John Dies at the End we are thrown into this abnormal world of multiple dimensons, monsters and mayhem. The film is primarily from the point of view of David who takes this drug they call Soy Sauce. This isnt exactly a drug in the traditional sense as it is able to take users across time and dimensions. The film follows David as he tries to essentially figure out what the hell is going on when John seems to go mental. John Dies at the End is a mashup of a few genres, being extremely funny and graphically violent. The entire cast from top to bottom are great in their various roles with Clancy Brown stealing every scene he is in as Dr. Albert Marconi. The script is very sharp and witty with some fantastically timed lines and comedic situations. The creative decisions of John Dies at the End are unique and fun with an overall originality that is very refreshing. The directors previous efforts include Bubba Ho-Tep and Phantasm, if that give you any indication of the type of tone this genre mash-up provides. John Dies at the End is a riot and guaranteed to be one of the most entertaining experiences of the year. 8.25/10

I loved the book and have been waiting for the movie ever since it was announced. Glad it's good. If you haven't read it or the sequel, they are definitely worth it.
